Target audience and applicable law

This website addresses an international audience, with a focus on Switzerland, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Turkey and India. Where the respective data-protection laws of these countries apply to a static website that sets no cookies and performs no tracking, we observe their core principles. Because this website sets no cookies and performs no tracking, no consent to cookies or tracking is required regardless of your location.

Principle

This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, tracking or advertising tools, embeds no third-party content and uses no tracking pixels. All assets — including fonts — are served locally; no requests are made to Google Fonts, CDNs or comparable external sources. No consent to cookies or tracking is therefore required.

Server logs at the host

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) and delivered through the content delivery network of Fastly, Inc. (475 Brannan Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you request a page, the connection data that is technically necessary is processed: IP address, date and time, requested URL, transferred volume, HTTP status code, user-agent (browser identifier) and, where applicable, the referrer.

This processing is necessary to operate the site and protect it against misuse (overriding private interest, Art. 31 revFADP; where the GDPR applies, legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have no direct access to these log files; retention and processing follow GitHub's privacy statement. GitHub and Fastly act as processors (Auftragsbearbeiter) for us within the meaning of Art. 9 revFADP.

Transfer of data to the United States

GitHub and Fastly also process data in the United States. Transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, on the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. This provides an adequate level of protection within the meaning of the revFADP.

Contact by email

If you write to us, the data you provide (sender address, content, attachments) is processed in order to handle your request. It is kept for as long as the matter requires, then deleted. We do not pass it on to third parties unless legally required. Please note that unencrypted email may be read by third parties in transit; for confidential content, please use an encrypted channel.

Profiling and automated decisions

We do not carry out profiling within the meaning of Art. 5(f) revFADP and we do not make solely automated individual decisions that would significantly affect you.

Your rights

You have the right to information, correction, deletion and to the release and portability of your data. An informal message to the contact address above is sufficient. Visitors from Switzerland may file a notification with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); visitors from the EU have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority of their member state.

Changes

This notice may be updated if processing or legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies.
